Celebrity In Death by J. D. Robb
Excellent book! Ms. Robb had me guessing on this one as long as she has Eve had Eve guessing.
The Icove Agenda was Nadine Furst’s book that rocked to the best seller list, Eve Dallas had lived it, now she is standing on the set watching an actress play out the lines she herself spoke when finding young Dr. Icove dead in his home office. The case that caused such a media sensation had turned into the book that took the known worlds by storm had now turned into the movie destined to be a box office smash and instant classic. But, wait, Nadine might get another book out of this because the night the main cast, the producer, publist, director – and wife – pkuse Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNabb and the Miras got together for a nice dinner party death ended up part of the entertainment.
Now, with a very small suspect pool of actors – and who knows when they are telling the truth – money men and people who know how to spin a tale to shift through to find out who killed the most unlike actress on the set, and then the pi she hired to follow her on set love interest, Eve is up to her eyes in lies, half truths and manipulations.
A wonderfully put together story where Eve gets her man, but doesn’t have to run her into the ground to do it, and is able to get the case closed without damaging her new body leather coat Roarke had specially designed for her with body armor lining but butter soft leather outside. Yeah, he really gets her, he may not always be perfect, but he does get her. They also seem to be getting back on more solid footing since Dallas. A must read if you like mysteries, and double if you have been sucked into the world of Eve Dallas.(less) e
