To Life Reborn

By Natasha Duncan-Drake

Tren is a thief, he has been a thief most of his life. He finally got caught, for stealing food, which is why he was still alive. One day all the prisoners are lined up outside and an older woman with white eyes picks from them. Tren was one of them.

When he got to where he was going, he finally found out what was going on, he had been picked to be a Dragon Soldier. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to become part dragon or not until he meets Ilana – his first friend. She teaches him to read and they support each other through the instructions. Many leave from the knot of beginning entrants, but Tren decides to stick it out, he has nowhere else to go really.

Then it happens, he has made it through to the branding ceremony, he makes it through that and time to because part dragon. They send them back to their quarters after that, dragon scales part of them now, with vague warnings about getting sick. They help each other through the fevers and illnesses, when Ilana get struck with hers; Tren refuses to leave her side until he too is struck down.

What happens next is unheard of in the time of the Dragon Soldiers… but yes, it is correct and right. A great story with well developed characters and a well written line that keeps you ensnared until the end. Pick this one up for a good quick read. I believe it was listed as YA, but I think anyone that enjoys dragons and a life given new purpose will enjoy this book. 5 star rating with happy smiles. Ms. Brooke, do we get to play in this world any more in any other stories? Thank you for sharing this one with us.

About lyssareviews

I am a single, pagan female who loves the written word. I am doing reviews on books to feed my reading habit. I will post those reviews here. I also love movies, TV shows, and laughing with my friends. I love to cochet, and am starting to spin my own yarn. Boy, do I think there very fun stories in that! So they might show up here. Also I have two cats and a small dog. Valkyrie, Miss Dottie and Sir Luck the Pup.... their stories may also sneak in here from time to time, to stay tuned.
