Strengthened by Fire by Andrew Grey

Lee Staton and Dirk Krause are back in this follow up to Redemption by Fire; Mr. Grey continues the tale of these two strong heroes. Lee and Dirk are still together, still going strong and their station has accepted them. They keep things professional when they at work.
In the last book the council was talking about closing one of two stations, Goodwin or Union, Union is their house and the oldest in the city. Union needs lots of work, over $150,000 worth, the captains figure $60,000 will get them started and show the council that they are a viable firehouse still. They ask everyone to think of fundraising ideas.
Lee comes up with one, Dirk really doesn’t like it and gets really upset when Lee goes ahead and purposes to the firehouse at a meeting. The Chicken and Beefcake dinner is a hit with everyone.
During the planning of this dinner Dirk finally comes to his senses and helps by introducing Lee to Billy and Darryl from Café Belgie and they further introduce him to Peter, who does supplies for them.
I loved this follow up book, the way it followed the guys, the real issues they have to work through, the way the community rounds around the station house and the continuing problems with Dirk’s father. These are real issues that affect firehouses, and couples.

It was joy to read this offering of Mr. Grey’s, as it always is. The characters and town really come to life. I give this book a 5 star rating, and encourage everyone to pick it up sooner rather later and read it if you love hot, VERY HOT firefighters in little more than their fire pants and suspenders… oh yeah, this a book for you.

About lyssareviews

I am a single, pagan female who loves the written word. I am doing reviews on books to feed my reading habit. I will post those reviews here. I also love movies, TV shows, and laughing with my friends. I love to cochet, and am starting to spin my own yarn. Boy, do I think there very fun stories in that! So they might show up here. Also I have two cats and a small dog. Valkyrie, Miss Dottie and Sir Luck the Pup.... their stories may also sneak in here from time to time, to stay tuned.
