The Tattooed Barista (Lone Star Sweets #3)
This book by Lissa Matthews was so worth the wait! From the beginning when Derek Forrester, a lawyer in suit who has never done anything outside his comfort zone, races into his best friend’s new offices and seeing the curvy, tattooed girl in the back office offers to pay her a thousand dollars to kiss him, right then. That is only the beginning, it might have been her teal hair that caught his attention, but that kiss told this buttoned up suit that this woman was his forever, now he just has to carefully court her and convince her of the same thing. Then his mother gets involved, first to scare her off, then to give advice as she realizes that her son is in love.
In this story, Peg is trying to start her business as a molble coffee barIsta with her own mixes and flavors. Her tattoos and hair are her calling card, her attitude is her way to have fun with her customers. Growing up in foster homes till she was sixteen, Peg has never had peple she could count on until she met Jerome, then Jackson of the The Cupcake Cowboy food truck, then their circle grew. Now this suit wants her life (and lies to his mother about them being engaged), and his mother? For a society granddame, she is being so nice! What is a girl to do? I mean, the nerve of the woman, she takes Peg wedding dress shopping, and when she sees how flustered Peg is, she looks Peg over and in complete understanding, she says that they have to have the dressed designed for her to fit her style. Peg can’t take it and flees.
I have loved these characters since Ms. Matthews started this series and eagerly awaited every book. Now this series is over, but we still have Jerome who was last seen going after a high society miss who is charge of the auction they are in. Oh, the fireworks that can be had there, please? Please tell us there is more with this group?
This is five star read that you must pick up if you love Lissa Matthews tattooed tender characters. You will never regret it!
